"She believed she could, so she did."
Originally from Huntington Beach, California, Meghana Mudiyam moved to Bangalore, India to act in the Kannada Film Industry, also known as Sandalwood. She was a lead in several feature films across genres including the immensely popular comedy Venkata in Sankata and the indie hit drama Bengaloored. She worked with many luminaries such as Girish Karnad, Ramesh Aravind, and Suhasini Maniratnam. Her acting career led to modeling opportunities on the ramp and in print for high end fashion designers and jewelry brands. She was also honored to speak at events for causes she supported such as public health, women's empowerment, and education.
Curiosity about the changing global landscape of film brought Meghana back to the US for a dual degree MBA (Wharton) and MA in International Studies (The Lauder Institute) at the University of Pennsylvania, where she was awarded the prestigious Leonard Lauder Fellowship. Her graduate thesis compared the drivers of overseas success for the French, Spanish, and Indian film industries. Meghana was also a proud leader on campus, serving as an Executive Vice President of the Wharton graduate student body and a board member of the Lauder Student Advisory Board and the Wharton Media and Entertainment Club.
After graduation, Meghana relocated to Los Angeles where she continues to act (SAG-AFTRA), as well as write and produce. She loves all aspects of storytelling, but is especially passionate about creating and collaborating on projects that inspire conversation as they entertain.
In her spare time, Meghana loves to experiment with cooking heirloom family recipes, explore the world, and spend time with her loved ones, especially her incredible husband whom she met on the bus one fine fall day in Philadelphia.
